Enzo Maresca has noticed the player's development this season and believes the hard work Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has put in during training has paid off.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has spent most of his time in cup competitions since joining Chelsea last summer. He scored the winning goal against Copenhagen, his third UEFA Conference League goal in ten European games for Chelsea.
Manager Enzo Maresca praised Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's performance and said: "I'm very happy for him. He is playing much better now than at the beginning of the season. This may be because he understands his role in the team. Even though he doesn't have a lot of playing time in the Premier League, he works very hard in training every day."
“It’s not easy to stick to the same goal every day but he’s working very well. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has shown how important he is to the team and hopefully he’ll be even more important from now on.”
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's goal ensured Chelsea's fourth straight win in all competitions and fifth straight at Stamford Bridge. After a disappointing run of results, Enzo Maresca will be hoping his side can rediscover their form as they head into the match against Arsenal.
Enzo Maresca said: "I am very happy with our progress. In terms of results, we have won the last four games and kept three clean sheets, which is very important for the team."
“After the international break, Nico Jackson and Noni Madueke will be back in the team so we can make the final push. We are in the quarter-finals and fourth in the league, so we are already there. Now, we just need to finish the tournament in the best possible way.”
