League of Legends: Mid-laner Loki will be leaving Cloud9 (C9) to return to South Korea..

American League of Legends powerhouse Cloud9 (C9) announced on Tuesday via their official X (Twitter) account that their mid-laner Loki will be leaving the team to return to South Korea.

According to Cloud9 (C9)'s official statement, Loki decided to leave for personal reasons. The entire club fully supports his decision, believing that nothing is more important than being close to his family.

The club will also do its utmost to ensure Loki's return and to fill his vacancy smoothly.

With the news of Loki's departure and return to South Korea, many netizens speculate that he may join a mid-tier LCK team to gain more experience and increase his profile, potentially leading to a future role with a top team in the region.

However, it remains unknown which team plans to sign Loki.

About Loki

Loki, who is still only 20 years old, was born on March 26, 2005, in Seoul, South Korea. He began playing professional League of Legends esports as a mid-laner in 2022.

Loki came through the LCK powerhouse, Hanhwa Life Esport (HLE) academy, where he and their feeder-team HLE Challengers achieved several fourth-place finishes in the LCK Challengers League and a top-4 finish in the 2023 Asia Star Challengers Invitational.

In November 2024, Loki chose to pursue his career overseas, joining Cloud9 (C9).

During his one-year spell with C9, Loki participated in the LTA North, achieving two runner-up finishes (Split 1 and 2) and one fourth-place finish (Split 3), as well as a top-4 finish in the LTA Cross-Conference.

He also participated in the 2025 Esports World Cup with his team, but finished in the top 12 after losing to FURIA.
