Czech offlaner SabeRLighT- has announced his joining Virtus.pro, officially becoming the team's new offlaner for the 2025-2026 season.
Virtus.pro will also be making a fresh start with a completely new roster in DreamLeague Season 27, the last tournament of the year, hoping to make a breakthrough in the new season after the upheaval.
SabeRLighT - Reached the peak of his career last year, joining world champion Team Liquid for the 2024-2025 season, taking over the top offlaner position from 33. Despite lacking experience on the highest stage, he performed exceptionally well at the start of the season, winning four tournaments and achieving multiple podium finishes.
However, SabeRLighT-'s TI journey ended in 9th–13th place, and Liquid moved him to the bench in September. He then briefly played for AVULUS on loan. With the disbandment of AVULUS, SabeRLighT- has now quickly found a new home.
After failing to qualify for The International (TI) for the past two years, Virtus.pro underwent significant changes, shifting from a core of Eastern European players to recruiting an international roster. The team signed Fly and Abed, and appointed Bulba as coach. Core player Timado and position 4 player Antares also joined the team.
Daxak, the original offlaner, has been dropped by Virtus.pro, and the arrival of SabeRLighT- is precisely to fill the crucial offlane position. The new roster's performance at the beginning of the season was not particularly impressive, with several tournaments ending prematurely. However, with the addition of SabeRLighT-, the team hopes to improve the offlaner's performance and enhance overall chemistry.
Virtus.pro is about to embark on its first major stage with its new roster: DreamLeague Season 27, which officially kicks off on December 10th. The arrival of SabeRLighT- not only completes the final piece of the Virtus.pro roster rebuild but also signifies the team's desire to regain its footing in international competition.
