The support hero Largo officially debuted in Dota 2 version 7.40.

Valve has officially released the 7.40 update for Dota 2, which brings several system and map adjustments, but the most anticipated highlight is undoubtedly the debut of the new hero Largo.

The addition of this strength-based support hero injects unprecedented gameplay mechanics into the game and makes up for the regret left by the lack of a new hero announced at The International 2025 this year.

Largo, previously known in the player community as "Bard Frog," has now been officially revealed. He is an amphibious creature from Velu'Mar, short and stocky in appearance, wielding a mandolin as his weapon. He damages enemies through musical melodies and provides powerful support to his teammates.

The official designation for Largo is that he is a strength-based support hero with high durability and outstanding team buffs, making him suitable for playing a key role in team fights.

Largo's most distinctive skill is his ultimate ability, "Amphibian Rhapsody." This skill introduced a rhythm game-like mechanic to Dota 2 for the first time, requiring players to play in time with the beat to make Largo unleash one of three different musical effects.

Each piece of music provides different buffs to friendly units, including increased spell damage, increased movement speed, slow resistance, and continuous healing, making team combat strategies more diverse.

In addition, Largo possesses an innate ability that extends the duration of all buffs applied to himself and his teammates, further amplifying the value of team abilities. He already has Aghanim's Scepter and Aghanim's Shard upgrade options, but he is not yet included in the Facets system, leaving more room for expansion in future versions.

With the release of version 7.40, Largo's appearance not only broke the traditional skill design framework of support heroes, but also brought new possibilities to the tactical depth and operation experience of Dota 2.
