Olympiakos' former France international attacking midfielder Rémy Cabella joins Nantes on-loan..


Nantes announced on their official website on Thursday that former France international attacking midfielder Rémy Cabella has joined the club on-loan from Olympiakos.


According to the Ligue 1 club's official statement, Cabella will play for the club on-loan until the end of the season, and the loan agreement does not include any option to buy. He will also wear the number 20 jersey.


About Rémy Cabella


The 35-year-old Rémy Cabella was born in Ajaccio, France on March 8, 1990. He is 1.71 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. He can also play as a left winger or a right winger. He has dual French and Italian nationality.


Cabella joined the youth academy of his hometown club Gazelec Ajaccio at the age of 10. Four years later, he moved to the Montpellier youth academy. During this spell, he won the Coupe Gambardella once with the club.


After being promoted to the first-team in the summer of 2009, Cabella was loaned-out to Arles-Avignon in July of the following year to gain match experience.


After returning to the club following the end of his loan spell in the summer of 2011, Cabella completed his Montpellier first-team debut in the Coupe de la Ligue match against Lorient at the end of October of the same year.


During his three-year spell at Montpellier, Cabella helped the club surprisingly win the Ligue 1 once.


In July 2014, Cabella joined Newcastle United for £8 million.


During his time with the Magpies, Cabella failed to perform at his best due to the poor performance of the whole team.


In August of the following year, Cabella was loaned-out to Marseille, and later, his ownership was officially bought out in August 2016.


During his two-year spell with Les Olympiens, Cabela helped the club reach the Coupe de France final once and the Coupe de la Ligue quarter-finals once.


On the 2017 summer transfer window deadline day, Cabella joined Saint-Etienne on-loan with an obligation to buy.


In July 2019, Cabella joined Krasnodar for €12 million.


In March 2022, affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war, Cabella terminated his contract with the Russian Premier League giants and returned to Montpellier as a free agent.


In July of the same year, Cabella joined Lille as a free agent.


During his three-year spell with Les Dogues, Cabella helped the team reach the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals once, the Champions League round of 16 once, and the Coupe de la Ligue round of 16 three times.


After his contract expired in the summer of 2025, Cabella joined Olympiakos as a free agent.


During the first half of the season, Cabella made 10 appearances for the Greek Super League defending champions in all competitions, providing 2 assists.
