Jack O'Brien admitted that the team was in poor form and the players performed poorly in the game.

Jack O'Brien stated that after Everton's 2-4 defeat to Brentford, the entire team is determined to correct their mistakes as quickly as possible. Brentford took an early lead at Hill Dickinson Stadium and extended their advantage within five or six minutes of the start of the second half.  

Everton defender Jack O'Brien said: "Today's performance was very disappointing, especially considering we had a good win just a few days ago. But we played terribly and didn't capitalize on our chances. In this level of competition, if you don't take your chances, you'll be punished."  

"It's hard to pinpoint the exact reason, but we were clearly not in good form today. Everyone was tired, and our performance was below our usual level. The team's coordination was lacking, which was very obvious."  

Everton fell behind Brentford at one point, but Beto pulled one back with a brilliant header, giving his team hope for a comeback. Although Everton created several chances afterward, Brentford scored the decisive goal in the 88th minute through Igor Thiago, sealing the final score at 4-1.  

The striker scored the opening goal just 11 minutes into the game. Speaking about the team's slow start, Jack O'Brien said, "We've been in similar situations before, falling behind but eventually equalizing. However, we had some chances after that, but unfortunately we didn't capitalize, while they did. As I said, in this level of competition, if you don't give your opponents opportunities, they'll exploit your mistakes, which is very disappointing."  

Jack O'Brien believes the upcoming busy week presents a good opportunity for the team to quickly recover from their last defeat. He stated, "Personally, I just want to put the loss to Brentford behind me. We have two more games in the next few days, and we need to approach them with a positive mindset, give our all, and try to get some points."  

"I think the game is about to start, so we must put the loss to Brentford behind us and focus on the upcoming game against Wolves, and work hard to correct the mistakes we made in training."
