Ash: I want to bounce back and win the trophy.

Former GamerLegion coach Ashley Batty (ID: ash) said on Tuesday that he is still preparing to return to the field.

The 35-year-old ash has coached several CS teams, including dizLown, London, Vexed, Organs5, and Divine Vendetta, before officially taking over GamerLegion in August 2020. His best achievement during his tenure was leading the team to the finals of the 2023 BLAST Paris Major, where they ultimately lost to Vitality and finished as runners-up.

In December 2025, Ash resigned from his position as a coach at GamerLegion due to "personal mental health issues." He stated at the time, "I need to rest, clear my mind, and adjust my state, after which I will return. Hopefully, it won't be too long."

After being away from the competition for over a month, Ash seems to be in better shape. In an interview with HLTV on Tuesday, he admitted, "My biggest regret stems from myself. I always felt like a very energetic person. That energy was infectious, making others more motivated and confident, but it gradually wore off before the off-season last year. At that time, I didn't take good care of myself either. Now, I just want to get back on my feet and prove myself."

Speaking of the future, ash made no secret of his ambition: "I want to play alongside the best players. I'm willing to do everything I can for it. I want to win trophies, and I've talked to GamerLegion about it. If I receive a suitable offer, it will be an opportunity I'm eager to seize in my career."

“I am still under contract, and everything still needs to be negotiated between both parties. I have great respect for GamerLegion, but if a turning point occurs and I am ready, I think this might be the most appropriate time.”

"I've been involved in esports for many years, accumulating a wealth of experience and working with all sorts of people. I crave victory and competition. That's why I love football and cricket all my life. You go out on the pitch to play your best and to win. As a coach, you do everything you can to unlock everyone's potential. That's how passionate I am about bringing out the best in everyone. I think I've achieved pretty good results so far."

“I hope that when I look back on the past three or four months in the future, I can say: ‘Great, it’s finally over, I’m so glad. I’ve learned a lot from it, and now I can move on.’ I will be proud of myself in the future, even though I’m still in the early stages.”
