The International will bring together the world's top Dota teams, and the event will be held at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center.

Every year, Dota players around the world strive for the same goal: to emerge victorious from fierce competition and win the ultimate championship. This tests not only skill level but also willpower, teamwork, and a spirit of sacrifice. Every action and decision can influence the course of the battle, and every mistake can render all efforts futile.  

This year marks the 15th anniversary of The International, where top Dota teams from around the world will gather in Shanghai, China, to compete for the Aegis of Champions, the highest honor. The tournament will be held from August 20th to 23rd at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, offering players and spectators four days of exciting matches.  

A total of 16 teams participated in this competition, some of whom were directly invited, while others were determined through open qualifiers (June 9-12) and regional qualifiers (June 15-28). Whether directly invited or qualifying through qualifiers, all teams had to go through fierce competition to prove that they deserved to stand on the international stage.  

After entering the Shanghai division, the teams will first participate in the Swiss-system group stage (August 13th to 16th) to compete for the eight spots in the main event. Every match in this stage is crucial, as the outcome will directly determine their advancement. The group stage will test not only the teams' competitive skills but also their mental fortitude and tactical adaptability.  

As the 2026 season progresses, competitions in major regions around the world continue to heat up. Teams are constantly refining their rosters and adjusting their tactics to secure qualification, making the matches increasingly intense. Each regional tournament could determine which teams will advance to the international stage and fight for their glory.
