◤Premier League◢ Kaoru Mitoma scored with a wonder goal to fire Brighton to a shock thumping 3-0-win over Chelsea..

Brighton shocked the world with a thumping 3-0 win over Chelsea in matchday 25 of the 2024/25 Premier League at the American Express Community Stadium on Friday, achieving a great achievement of completing a Double over the Blues in a week.

In the first half, Kaoru Mitoma scored a wonder goal with a long shot, and Fernández scored a header from close range, but the goal was ruled out due to a malicious foul. Minteh scored from a close-range shot. In the second half, Minteh shot and scored from a difficult angle. After this round of game, the Seagulls temporarily rose to 8th on the table with 37 points with this victory; Chelsea is still 4th on the table with 43 points, but only 2 points ahead of Manchester City, in 5th with one game in hand.

First Half

In the 18th minute, Noni Madueke passes horizontally from the edge of the byline on the right wing, Cole Palmer quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his left foot from the center of the box, but his shot went wide of the left side of the post.

9 minutes later, Brighton made a deadly quick counterattack. Bart Verbruggen made a long pass from his own penalty area. After successfully beating the offside trap and quickly following up, Kaoru Mitoma got the ball, dribbled and cuts inside towards the edge of the penalty area before taking a long shot with his right foot. The ball flew straight into the bottom right corner of the net, turning it into a wonder goal in the process, leaving Filip Jörgensen out of his reach! Brighton broke the deadlock first to take an early 1-0 lead! The Japan international winger scored against the Blues in two consecutive matches!

In the 32nd minute, Malo Gusto crossed into the box from the edge of the byline on the right wing. Enzo Fernández rose high and scored with a header from a very close distance in the the box. However, the referee immediately blew his whistle to indicate that the goal was ruled out! Afterwards, video replays showed that Fernández deliberately pushed Joël Veltman before the header, so the decision to rule the goal out was correct!

6 minutes later, Georginio Rutter dribbled into the left side of the box before volleying with his left foot  at a difficult angle. His shot was initially blocked and cleared not far away by Levi Colwill. After picking up the loose ball, Danny Welbeck passes horizontally from a very close distance box. Yankuba Minteh stopped the ball and adjusted his angle before slotting the ball into the bottom right corner of the net from a very close distance in the box with his left foot. Brighton expanded its lead to 2-0!

At the end of the first half, Brighton temporarily led Chelsea 2-0 into the half time break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 63rd minute, Minteh and Welbeck played a nice one-two football. Minteh quickly followed up and after receiving the latter's return pass, volleyed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net at a diffcult angle from the right side of the box with his left foot to score twice. Brighton expanded its lead again to 3-0!

In the 85th minute, Hassan Ayari crossed into the box from the front. After successfully beating the offside trap and quickly following up, upon receiving the pass, Joël Veltman volleyed with his right foot from a very close distance in the box, however his shot was saved by Jörgensen before unfortunately hitting the upper right corner of the post and bounced off. Brighton missed a golden opportunity to score another goal!

When the final whistle is blown, Brighton defeated Chelsea with a shock 3-0 win.
