BLAST Slam II runner-up Gaimin Gladiators announced that captain Seleri needs to rest and will temporarily leave the team for a while.
Gaimin Gladiators released a statement on social media that the captain and fifth position support Seleri has been adjusted to an inactive state. Gaimin Gladiators wrote: "This is to allow him to temporarily stay away from Dota 2 due to the intensive competition and get some rest."
Seleri also posted on social media to tell everyone that this was his personal request for a rest, and thanked his teammates for their understanding and support of his decision.
In order to fill Seleri's vacancy, Gaimin Gladiators invited Malady to temporarily serve as the fifth support player until further notice. However, Gaimin Gladiators has not yet announced who will take over the captaincy.
Previously, under Seleri's leadership, Gaimin Gladiators not only won all three Major championships in the last season of the now-defunct Dota Pro Circuit, but also won the runner-up in TI 2023. Gaimin Gladiators won the runner-up again in TI 2024, winning this honor for two consecutive years.
However, the start of the 2025 Dota 2 season has been tough for Gaimin Gladiators. Gaimin Gladiators participated in the DreamLeague Season 25 and ESL One Raleigh 2025 qualifiers, but failed to qualify.
Although Gaimin Gladiators won the runner-up in BLAS Slam II, they lost again in the qualifiers of PGL Wallachia Season 4. I hope Seleri can return to the team as soon as possible after the break and help Gaimin Gladiators achieve greater success.
