Bayern Munich's sporting director: We will not trigger Nicolas Jackson's buyout clause.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl confirmed on Sunday that Nicolas Jackson will return to Chelsea after his loan spell ends this summer.

The 24-year-old Jackson previously played for Mirandés and Villarreal, and joined Bayern Munich on loan from Chelsea in September 2025. His loan fee is rumored to be as high as €16.5 million, with a €65 million buy-out clause included in the contract.

As Harry Kane's backup center forward, Jackson has made 29 appearances for Bayern Munich to date. During this time, he has scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists, and helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title this season.

Despite a respectable performance during his loan spell, Bayern Munich have no plans to retain Nicholas Jackson. In an interview with German television channel ZDF, Eberl stated clearly: "We will not trigger the buyout clause for Nicholas Jackson because he has not yet met the required number of appearances."

In response to Bayern Munich's stance, Jackson's agent, Diomansi Camara, immediately responded via Instagram. He wrote: "Nicholas Jackson has had an outstanding season. He has made 28 appearances and scored 10 goals."

"He not only won the Africa Cup of Nations and the Bundesliga title, but also successfully advanced to the German Cup final."

“Although Bayern Munich has no intention of activating the buyout clause, Nico will still be 100% focused on the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain. This is a crucial moment for him and the club.”

"Bayern is a very great club; the top priority right now is to win as many trophies as possible before the end of this season. As for the future... who can predict? Trust the process, anything is possible."

As for Jackson's future at Chelsea after his return this summer, it remains unclear. According to a previous report by talkSPORT, Newcastle United have listed Jackson as a potential transfer target, and Chelsea are also open to a move for him.
