Luke Williams sacked by Swansea City

Swansea City officially announced that coach Luke Williams was fired due to the team's recent poor performance and left the team after just over a year in office. Assistant coach Ryan Harley and first-team coach analyst George Lautje also left the team.

After losing to Stoke City last weekend, Swansea City has only won one of the last 10 games in all competitions. Due to the continued poor performance, the club finally decided to make adjustments, hoping to improve the performance by changing the coach.

The club announced that Alan Sheehan will serve as interim head coach and lead the team in preparation for the upcoming games.

Swansea City chairman Andy Coleman said in a statement: "This is a difficult decision and one we have not taken lightly. Luke has had a challenging 13 months and we are grateful for his hard work for the team."

"I recognise the hard work and sacrifice that Luke, Ryan and George have made for Swansea City. Unfortunately, our performances and results since the turn of the year have not been up to the standard we should have and as a result, we feel changes must be made to improve our performances on the pitch."

Regarding the selection of a new head coach, Coleman said the club will keep fans informed of progress in due course, and that Sheehan and his team are currently focusing on preparing the team for the upcoming games.

Swansea City will host Blackburn Rovers in the Championship this Saturday, with the team hoping to stop their decline before a new manager takes office.
