FaZe and GL both pulled off upsets, advancing to the semifinals of BLAST Fort Worth.

In the recently concluded quarterfinals of BLAST Rivals Fort Worth 2026, FaZe Clan and GamerLegion (GL) defeated strong opponents G2 and rising Astralis respectively, successfully securing their semifinal spots.

Next, FaZe Clan and GamerLegion will join NAVI and Vitality in the semifinals to compete for the ultimate championship trophy in Texas.

FaZe Clan's path to the knockout stage was nothing short of thrilling. Facing the in-form G2, many predicted FaZe would be eliminated in the quarterfinals. However, this veteran team displayed remarkable resilience, ultimately defeating G2 with a 2-1 series victory.

In the first map, Dust 2, despite G2 sniper SunPayus' impressive 1.76 rating, FaZe narrowly won 13-11. G2 then evened the score in Ancient Ruins with a 13-9 victory.

Entering the decisive map, Mirage, FaZe was once down 9-12, on the verge of elimination. However, under the leadership of temporary commander Twistzz, they miraculously dragged the game into overtime with three consecutive rounds of incredible defuse attempts, and then won the game 16-13.

On the other side, GamerLegion swept Astralis 2-0. In the first map, Amusement Park, GL's young player PR racked up 24 kills, leading his team to cripple the opponent's weak defense and take the first map 13-8.

The battle on Map Two, Inferno, was even more dramatic. Astralis once held a commanding 12-4 lead, just one point away from victory. However, veteran GL Snax led the young team to withstand the pressure, dragging the game into overtime and completing a stunning comeback to win 16-14, ending the series' suspense.

With the final four teams now officially confirmed, the semifinals are sure to be even more intense. Whether these two teams, who just pulled off upsets and comebacks, can continue to create miracles remains to be seen, leaving esports fans eagerly anticipating the outcome.
