The 26th round of the 2024/25 Premier League will usher in another focus battle, and Nottingham Forest will go to St. James Park to challenge Newcastle. Coach Nuno said at the press conference that the opponents the team faces will only get stronger, so he hopes that the team can become stronger in all aspects.
After Chris Wood scored a goal in last week's league, Nottingham Forest lost 1-2 to Fulham away. After losing 3 points, Nottingham Forest is currently ranked third in the standings with 47 points and is still on the right track to qualify for the Champions League.
As for Newcastle, the "Magpies" lost 0-4 to Manchester City in the last round of the league. They are currently ranked 8th in the standings with 41 points and are also aiming for European qualification.
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno said, "I hope the team can become stronger in all aspects of the game. We have been competing hard this season and this is what we expect in the final stage of the season."
"Now the opponents in every game will only be stronger and the games will become more difficult, but we have to remain strong in the face of various challenges, including dealing with external expectations, our own beliefs, and the fact that players may not be able to maintain their best condition at certain moments. This is what I mean by stronger."
In addition, the 22-year-old Elliot Anderson joined Nottingham Forest in July last year. He has played 24 games and scored one goal in the Premier League.
"He has adapted well to the team and his teammates are helping him," Nuno said of the midfielder. "He is very happy here and he is doing very well. He is one of our midfielders who can adjust his position flexibly and I think he is doing very well. After he joined the team, we went to Spain for pre-season training. That training camp helped the new player to integrate into the team quickly and I think he felt very comfortable and enjoyed it at the time."
"He is still very young, but his talent is unquestionable. He certainly has a lot of details to improve, but you can see that he is putting in a lot of effort and I think he is doing very well."
