Lazio draws 0-0 with Venice Baroni: Our attack is not sharp enough

After repeatedly missing opportunities in the 26th round of the 2024/25 Serie A season, Lazio finally drew 0-0 with Venice away. Baroni said that his team was not sharp enough in attack and must improve in rhythm and intensity.

After only getting one point in this game, Lazio currently ranks Xth in the standings with 47 points, while Venice ranks 19th with 17 points and is still in danger of relegation.

Lazio coach Baroni said in an interview, "The game is never easy, but this game also makes us realize that the team needs to improve the rhythm and intensity of the game, which is exactly what we lacked in this game. But the positive side is that we kept a clean sheet and the whole team maintained a compact formation, but our offense was not sharp enough."

Additionally, Lazio midfielder Dele Bashirou suffered an ankle injury during the game and tried to hold on and take a shot.

Speaking about Dele Bashirou’s condition, Baroni said, “We need to further evaluate his injury. He felt pain when shooting, and with such a dense schedule, playing a game every two to three days, it is not easy for him to recover before the next game.”

On the other hand, Lazio will travel to the San Siro Stadium to challenge Inter Milan in the quarterfinals of the 2024/25 Italian Cup, and will then have to take into account the Serie A and UEFA Europa League round of 16 matches.
