The Miami Heat announced that Nikola Jovic will miss at least four weeks due to a broken right hand. This is a huge blow to the team's hopes of securing a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Nikola Jovic is averaging 10.7 points per game this season.
Nikola Jovic fractured the second metacarpal bone in his hand against Milwaukee, which was diagnosed at halftime. He did not play in the team's game against Atlanta.
It is reported that Nikola Jovic was evaluated by Elizabeth Ann Ouellet, director of hand surgery, and team doctor Harlan Selesnik. The team said Nikola Jovic will wear a splint until he is re-evaluated.
"I feel for Nikola Jovic because I know how much it's taken from him," Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. Nikola Jovic will miss at least 15 games and could return as early as March 25.
