Unai Emery: Everyone wants to win prestige through competition

Aston Villa are about to host Cardiff City in the FA Cup, and coach Unai Emery admits that everyone in the team is eager to win prestige through the game.

At the pre-match press conference, Emery talked about the importance of the FA Cup to the team: "This is a road to compete for trophies and also an opportunity to enter the European arena. The FA Cup champion will qualify for the Europa League next season."

"We have three ways to qualify for Europe - the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup. We are not favourites for the FA Cup, but it is important to be able to compete in this competition and try to win the trophy."

"It is also a prestigious tournament. Every player, club and coaching staff member is eager to win prestige through the competition."

Aston Villa have won the first two FA Cup matches. Emery is full of confidence in the team and said: "This season, our performance in this competition is relatively stable. We played two excellent games at home against West Ham United and Tottenham and won."

“Tomorrow’s game is another opportunity for us to continue to perform consistently. Our goal is to continue to build confidence, adjust our form, both individually and as a team, and show our fans how much we want to play in this tournament.”
