Tottenham Hotspur sign 21-year-old Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinski on a five-and-a-half-year contract

Tottenham Hotspur announced on Sunday that they have signed goalkeeper Antonin Kinski from Czech club Slavia Prague on a five-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2031.

According to Czech media, Antonin Kinski's transfer fee is as high as 16.5 million euros. He will wear the No. 31 jersey at Tottenham.

Various signs indicate that Tottenham's move is aimed at alleviating the goalkeeper crisis. Their 28-year-old main goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been unable to return since undergoing surgery for a broken right ankle last November, and the 36-year-old second goalkeeper Fraser Forster is out of action due to influenza. Tottenham had to use the inexperienced youth goalkeeper Brandon Austin yesterday, and eventually lost 1-2 to Newcastle United at home.

It is reported that Kinski could start against Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday as early as possible. TA reporter David Ornstein also pointed out that Kinski will compete with Vicario for the starting position after joining Tottenham.

Antonin Kinski, 21, was born in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. He made his professional debut for Dukla Prague in a Czech League B match on July 14, 2020. He has played for Slavia Prague since 2021, making 30 appearances so far and keeping 14 clean sheets.

In the early days of joining Slavia Prague, Kinski was loaned out to Vyškov and Pardubice, where he accumulated rich game experience. He wanted to leave the team last summer to seek more playing opportunities, but eventually chose to renew his contract due to a serious shoulder injury to the main goalkeeper Stanek.
