Marco Silva says the players have performed well and the team deserves to advance to the next stage

Fulham manager Marco Silva is delighted that his side have booked a place in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals after a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Bernd Leno made two saves in the penalty shootout to ensure his side progress to the quarter-finals, where they will face Crystal Palace.

Marco Silva said: "This is definitely our goal, we want to get to the next stage, we want to reach the quarter-finals. "We know where Manchester United are in the competition and it's not easy to come here and control the game because they like to counterattack in open spaces.

"We weren't in great form in the first half but the team improved in the last 30 minutes of the second half, even though Bruno reacted and scored a goal. I thought we controlled the game, came here and took it to their defence."

"Since Ganacho came on, they used his speed to create problems, and that was the only problem they created, coming from counterattacks. From the game, I think we controlled the game more and took more responsibility for possession. Overall, I believe we deserve to go to the next stage."

Marco Silva also said: "I like the calmness of our team. We have done enough preparation for this game. Our players performed very steadily and I am very happy for them. In the last second before the penalty shootout, I told the players that we have come a long way and will enter the next stage."
