KT Rolster defeats rival Gen.G to advance to the League of Legends World Championship Finals for the first time.

In the semifinals of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, KT Rolster defeated LCK champions Gen.G 3-1, making history by advancing to the World Championship finals for the first time.

This match was not only a clash between two top Korean teams, but also a glorious moment for KT Rolster after their rebirth in team history. As the dark horse of this tournament, KT Rolster has shown strong performance throughout.

Starting from the Swiss rounds, KT Rolster defeated LEC representative Movistar KOI and LCP team Team Secret Whales in succession, and swept Top Esports 2-0, becoming the first team to advance to the playoffs.

In the quarterfinals, KT Rolster once again eliminated LCP champions CTBC Flying Oyster with a clean and decisive performance, demonstrating astonishing dominance. Facing Gen.G, who had previously won both the LCK and MSI titles, KT Rolster showed no fear.

In the first game, KT Rolster secured a hard-fought victory in 46 minutes thanks to a successful counter-attack in a crucial team fight. Although Gen.G steadied themselves in the second game and pulled back a point, KT Rolster quickly adjusted their rhythm in the third game, easily crushing the opponent with a 17-2 kill lead in just 29 minutes.

In the fourth game, KT Rolster completely controlled the pace of the game, dominating the entire map and leaving Gen.G unable to cope, ultimately securing the victory with a score of 16-2.

This victory not only ended Gen.G's dream of defending their title, but also propelled KT Rolster to the World Championship finals. KT Rolster will face the winner of the other semifinal on November 9th, either T1 or Top Esports, for their first-ever World Championship title.
