Joao Neves believes the team is in top form and recent wins have given the team confidence

Ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League last-16 first leg against Liverpool at the Parc des Princes in Paris, Joao Neves attended a press conference and answered questions from PSG TV.  

Joao Neves said: "I think we are ready and we have to play our style, which is the best way to win. Liverpool is a very good team and they are at the top of the standings."  

"I'm happy with the way we played and if we can keep doing that against Liverpool it will be great. The ideal way to defend against these players is to have the ball and our strategy is to get the ball, keep it and try to play quality football."  

"We tried to cut off possession and keep the ball as much as possible. As a team, I thought we played well. In this kind of game, every detail is important and every duel is crucial, which determines the victory or defeat of the team."  

"One of the reasons I came to PSG was to play for Luis Enrique and his tactics are the best way to win. So, we follow his instructions and that makes everything easier. His goals for me are the same as for the other players and that allows us to get the most out of ourselves as footballers."  

"We are improving every day. At the beginning of the Champions League we had some difficulties, not because we didn't play well but because we didn't score many goals.  

"We play in the same way, at the same tempo and with the same quality in every game. We haven't lost in four months and that's a big confidence booster. I have strengths and weaknesses like everyone else, but as a team we are growing and improving ."  

Joao Neves added: "I think my fighting spirit is from my parents because they always told me to do my best to do what I should do. I am not the tallest, but I am not the shortest at the same time. When it comes to height, you have to try different ways of playing."  

"We haven't had a lot of time to prepare for the game and recover, but we have all the staff and the right conditions to be ready. At the moment, we are adjusting our training. It is undeniable that the fans are very important for us. Since I arrived here, I have liked our fans and it always feels good to play in front of them."
