Arne Sloter praises players for overcoming incredible challenge

He praised his players' performance as Liverpool beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 and said they overcame an incredible game.  

After the game, head coach Arne Sloter expressed his feelings about the game, saying: "I think we would have been lucky if we had a draw in this game. But we won and we are really happy. I think they played better, especially in the first half, they had a lot of open chances."  

"In the second half, they were still the better team and they had a lot of chances to shoot, but mainly outside the box. I knew how good they were before the game, but when I saw it again, I really thought they played well."  

"Regarding Harvey Elliott's performance, this is the most important moment for him. I understand that he is sometimes unhappy because he has too few playing minutes because he is a very good player. Harvey Elliott has proved himself to be a great player at Liverpool.  

"Harvey Elliott and my staff have been great because they've been working with him and coming up with great training methods every time to keep him fit and healthy.  

Regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance, Arne Slot said: "I have seen the same situation many times this season. I think he was suppressed by the opponent several times in some games, but we did not allow the opponent to have too many opportunities. Although he encountered some difficulties in the first half, in summary, his defense was very good."
