Lakers official: Guard Jordan Goodwin is promoted to regular player, forward Cam Reddish is waived

The Los Angeles Lakers released a statement on Thursday confirming the signing of 26-year-old guard Jordan Goodwin. According to team policy, the specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Jordan Goodwin played for the NCAA Division I Saint Louis University during college, and joined the Washington Wizards G League affiliate Capital Go-Go after being undrafted in 2021. He then played for the Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers, playing in 140 NBA regular season games, averaging 18.3 minutes per game, contributing 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

So far this season, Goodwin has played 20 times for the Lakers, averaging 6.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.15 steals in 20.3 minutes per game, with a shooting percentage of 48.1% and a three-point shooting percentage of 42.9%. He mainly plays a rotation role in the Lakers and helps the team to temporarily rank fourth in the Western Conference with a record of 44 wins and 28 losses.

At the same time, the Lakers waived underperforming forward Cam Reddish to make room for Goodwin's regularization. Reddish, 25, was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 10th pick in the first round in 2019 and has played for the New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers. He played 33 times for the Lakers this season, averaging only 3.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 17.9 minutes per game, and his offensive influence was too limited.
