Lewis Hall, who currently plays for Newcastle United, admitted to being frustrated after he was ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken foot.
The left-back will miss this month's Carabao Cup final, the Magpies' Premier League campaign and new England manager Thomas Tuchel's first game in charge of England football as Lewis Hall undergoes surgery, a decision he made following specialist advice.
It is reported that Lewis Hall admitted that he was sad about not being able to participate in the game, but from the long-term perspective of his career, undergoing surgery was the best option.
Lewis Hall said: "It's really frustrating for me, especially with the games coming up. There are so many games left before the end of the season, and I'm looking forward to these games, so this is very painful for me."
"I feel like my season is going very well, but now may be the worst time. Although I want to continue playing, I have to be responsible for my career and choose the most appropriate option. If I continue to play in pain, then my situation may get worse, which will have a great impact on my career."
"In fact, I would have given everything to play if I could. The cup final is a very important game and I have played in all the previous games and I think I have played an important role for the team in getting to this stage."
"I have never experienced anything like this in my career. But I watch them train and play every day, and I really want to be with them. However, I believe they can lead the team to a better future and do what they should do as players."
This season, Lewis Hall twice won the club's Serra Player of the Month award and made his first appearance for the national team in November.
Lewis Hall received blessings from supporters on social media. He said: "I have received a lot of messages from fans who care about me. In my most difficult time, it is a pleasure to hear that fans appreciate my efforts and the way I play.
"I still have a lot to achieve and I feel like my career at Newcastle has started very well. I've made a lot of progress and learned a lot here and I feel like I can achieve a lot more with the team."
"I hope to recover as quickly as possible during the off-season and be ready for next season. Hopefully we can win a trophy in the Champions League by then."
