La Liga officially confirmed that Barcelona's application for temporary registration of Dani Olmo has been rejected..

La Liga confirmed on its official website on New Year's Day that they have rejected Barcelona's application for temporary registration of its Spain international attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.

According to La Liga's official statement, they have received and reviewed Barcelona's proposal to understand how the Blaugrana can continue to temporarily register Olmo while meeting the financial condition requirements.

However, after careful observation by the board of directors, the authorities found that the proposal presented by the club was not feasible at all, hence they eventually decided to reject Barcelona's application.

Barcelona firmly refused to accept La Liga's rejection and said that it would continue to try hard and hope they can continue to temporarily register the player.

In addition, according to the news brought by Spanish media outlet Relevo's resident  renowned Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, Olmo himself could not accept this fact and firmly believed that the two sides would eventually find a solution.

Although he knew that there would be big clubs who will seize on the opportunity to move and try to sign him because of the rejection of his temporary registration, Olmo had expressed through his agent that he was unwilling to leave the club.

In the first half of the season, Barcelona has been taking advantage of the serious injuries of two defenders Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen to temporarily register Olmo Now, as both have recovered from their injuries, Olmo's temporary registration rights have expired.

It is worth mentioning that although Olmo will not be registered, this does not mean that Barcelona will be forced to sell him. He will just be in a dilemma of having nowhere to play before this problem is solved because he has not been registered in the player list.

Olmo, 26, was born on May 7, 1998 in Terrassa, Catalonia, Spain. He is 1.79 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. He can also play as a left winger or right winger.

Olmo played for Espanyol, Barcelona and Dynamo Zagreb in his early years. In January 2020, he joined RB Leipzig for €20 million.

During his three-and-a-half-year stint at RB Leipzig, Olmer won the DFB-Pokal twice and the DFL-Super Cup once with the club, and is one of the most outstanding attacking midfielders in Germany and even in European football.
