West Ham United is about to challenge Everton away in the 29th round of the Premier League this season. Coach Graham Potter revealed the players' injuries before the game.
In the pre-match press conference, Porter mentioned German striker Niklas Felkerug, who has been absent from the tournament since he was injured in January this year. However, Felkerug has resumed training and is not far from the official return date.
Porter said: "There are basically no changes to the team lineup at the moment. The match against Newcastle United did not bring any new injury problems. The injured player, Phil Kruger, has started training with the team, but he is still unable to start."
"We will assess whether he can be included in the squad in the next 24 hours, but I think it is more likely that he will return after the international match day. Phil Kruger still needs some training time, but his return is good news for the team."
Elsewhere, Clissoncio Somerville still needs to recover from a hamstring injury, but Lucas Paqueta has returned from injury against Newcastle United and Vladimir Caofar is also expected to return to the lineup.
Jean-Clair Todibo, who returned to the team before the absence, is gradually getting better. He has started in three consecutive games, playing about 65 minutes in each game. Porter said: "Generally speaking, when a player is absent for a period of time due to injury, especially an injury like his, he needs to gradually increase his playing time."
"So it's unrealistic to expect him to play 90 minutes straight away. He's fasting and this is the first week. That's going to be a bit of a challenge in terms of diet and recovery, especially since he's just come back from injury. But he's getting better and better and he's getting close to being able to play 90 minutes."
