The French Football Federation had officially announced the 24-man squad list for the national team's UEFA Nations League quarter-finals matches in March 2025 on its official website on Thursday.
In the list of players announced this time, Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé returned to the Les Bleus squad for the first time after six-months following his return from injury, and his Los Blancos teammates Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni were unsurprisingly selected as well.
This time, head coach Didier Deschamps naturally called-up a number of Paris Saint-Germain players, including Bradley Barcola, Warren-Zaïre-Emery and Ousmane Dembélé, who can't stop scoring since January 2025 as well.
In terms of surprises, fellow Les Parisiens wonderkid Désiré Doué, is called up for the first time, and Lucas Chevalier, who was called up for the first time in November but has not yet completed his debut for the senior national team, is also on the list.
Vice-captain, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise and Arsenal defender William Saliba are also included.
As for the players missing out, N'Golo Kante, Ferland Mendy and Kingsley Coman all missed out due to injuries, while Alphonse Areola, Lucas Hernandez and Christopher Nkunku were not called up due to their poor performances or lack of game time.
The Crystal Palace duo Jean Philippe Mateta and Maxence Lacroix, who have performed well recently, were once again not selected.
The France national team will first challenge Croatia away next Monday (March 17) local time in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, and then play the second leg at home three days later.
