Ben Davies performed well and contributed a goal and an assist to the team

Wales, led by captain Ben Davies, beat Kazakhstan 3-1 to kick off the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.  

The defender contributed a goal and an assist as Wales recovered from a first-half tie to win 3-1 in their European Qualifying Group J match. Brennan Johnson also started the game and completed 62 minutes.  

It is reported that this is Ben Davies' third goal for the national team and his 93rd appearance for the national team. Three minutes into the second half, Ben Davies received a corner kick from Solba Thomas at the far post to increase the score. Ben Davies assisted Dan James to open the scoring, and then Askat Tagibehen equalized the score with a penalty kick. Rabbi Matondo scored the third goal for Craig Bellamy's team in the game to seal the victory.  

Elsewhere in the World Cup qualifiers, Mano Solomon, who is on loan at Leeds United, provided an assist for Eliezer Dasa at a crucial moment in the game as Israel beat Estonia 2-1. Former Tottenham player Maxim Paskots opened the scoring for Estonia.
