Dirk Kuyt is delighted to be back at Liverpool and it's a great day for him

Dirk Kuyt has always loved returning to Anfield and has explained why the Liverpool Legends match is an important opportunity to give back to the club and the city.  

Dirk Kuyt was one of the players who beat Chelsea Legends 2-0 in front of a huge crowd, a win that was all thanks to Peter Crouch. All funds raised from the match will go towards supporting the important work of LFC Foundation and other beneficiaries, and Dirk Kuyt was delighted to be able to play his part in the charity match.  

Dirk Kuyt said: "I'm really happy to be back. It's exciting to be back at Liverpool, especially on this occasion. It's really rewarding to play at Anfield in front of a full house and for a good cause. Winning never gets boring and it was a great day for all of us."  

"I think as a former player at the club I'm very lucky to still be involved in it and it's really special to me. I think Liverpool Football Club is an example to a lot of other clubs in terms of how to be a family."  

"We really want Liverpool to win the league and we are excited about the future of the team. I think it is important to have unity, which is the most precious thing about Liverpool, and all the players want to be involved.  

"It's a great feeling to play at Anfield and they want to give back to Liverpool because Liverpool has given us so much in the past. Now we have the opportunity to give back to the community with the fans, which is really interesting."
