Macko Esports announces temporary departure from League of Legends

Macko Esports, a well-known Italian e-sports team, announced that it will temporarily withdraw from the League of Legends ecosystem. This news was suddenly released on the eve of the start of the 2025 Spring Season of LIT (Italian League of Legends League), which was unexpected.

Antonio Todisco, CEO of Macko Entertainment Srl and founder of Macko Esports, issued a public statement through social media X, admitting that the organization has "encountered many major challenges" in the past five years.

“As CEO of Macko Entertainment Srl and founder of Macko Esports, I would like to thank PG Esports and Riot Italia for their collaboration over the past few years.”

"But regrettably, after much friction, we have to announce the suspension of this partnership."

Todisco also emphasized that this does not mean that Macko Esports will completely withdraw from the League of Legends stage.

“We have decided to temporarily step away from the competitive League of Legends community. This will give us time to reevaluate our future strategy and explore a more sustainable path forward.”

“For us, it’s critical that the community understands – we are not exiting, but we are preparing to come back stronger, awaiting more favorable ecological conditions.”

LIT officials also issued a statement on social media, officially bidding farewell to this meritorious team. "After many seasons of fierce competition, seven domestic championship trophies and many brilliant achievements, Macko Esports' journey in LIT has officially come to an end."

“We sincerely thank all the players, staff and partners who have contributed to this team and left an indelible mark on the league.”
