Nuno reveals Chris Wood's injury is still under investigation

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed the condition of Chris Wood, who was injured during the international break, ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final away to Brighton.

Wood represented New Zealand in the Oceania World Cup qualifiers. In the match against New Caledonia, Wood was forced to leave the field early 10 minutes into the second half due to a hip injury caused by an accidental landing.

Now that the international match day is over, Wood has returned to Nottingham Forest for examination and treatment. At the pre-match press conference, Nuno confirmed that Wood will not participate in the FA Cup match against Brighton and will wait for a specific medical assessment.

"He went for a scan today and we are still waiting for the results," Nuno said. "He went to a specialist for a detailed examination so we need to wait for the final diagnosis."

"He will definitely not be available against Brighton. He had a bad hip fall and is still in pain so we will just have to be patient and wait."

"After each international break, the players return in different conditions and we need to assess them. Many players have only returned to the team today, while Sousa will not arrive until tomorrow, so we need to further assess their situation."
