Al-Ahli announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has renewed the contract of its Germany international attacking midfielder Julian Draxler.
According to Al-Ahli's official statement, Draxler has signed on a new three-and-a-half-year contract with the club which will run until the summer of 2028.
About Julian Draxler
Draxler, 31, was born in Gladbeck, Germany on September 20, 1993. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. He can also play as a left winger.
Draxler joined Schalke 04's youth academy at the age of 8 and completed his Schalke 04 first-team debut in January 2011.
During his five-year spell with Die Königsblauen, Draxler won the DFB-Pokal once and the DFL-Super Cup once with the club.
On the 2015 summer transfer window deadline day, Draxler moved to Wolfsburg for €36 million euros.
Despite his outstanding personal performances, Draxler decided to leave shortly after joining the club due to the serious decline of Die Wolfe's overall performances.
In January 2017, Draxler joined Paris Saint-Germain for €42 million euros.
During his six-year spell with Les Parisiens, Draxler won the Ligue 1 six times, the Coupe de France four times, the Coupe de la Ligue three times, the Trophée des Champions twice, and reached the UEFA Champions League final with the club once.
On the 2022 summer transfer window deadline day, Draxler joined Benfica on-loan, during which he won the Portuguese Primeira Liga with the club.
In September 2023, Draxler joined Al-Ahli for €20 million.
Since becoming a member of Al-Ahli, Draxler has played 26 times for the Qatar Stars League giants in all competitions so far, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists.
