OG's new lineup failed to challenge DreamLeague S26 and was eliminated in the open qualifiers

The first public qualifier of DreamLeague S26 has ended. The challenge of OG, which unveiled its new Dota 2 lineup a few days ago, was unsuccessful and ended here.

This was the first time that OG's new lineup tried to qualify for a tournament, but it ended in failure. In the open qualifiers of DreamLeague S26, participating teams only needed to win two games to advance to the closed qualifiers, but the highly anticipated OG lost in succession and was eliminated.

In the first open qualifier, OG lost to Mafia Power, a Bulgarian team led by MinD_ContRol, the champion of the International 2017. In the second game, OG performed better and defeated End Game.

Unfortunately, in the third game, OG lost to the Eastern European team Bikini Bottom and was eliminated. It is worth noting that Bikini Bottom has Ukrainian player fortnite Men, who defeated OG in the DreamLeague S24 qualifiers in September 2024, creating a sense of déjà vu.

OG's roster for this competition has three trial players, namely Ulnit, Davai Lama and Kidaro. Now that they cannot advance to DreamLeague S26, it means that they will not have any events or qualifiers to play before May. Whether the team will maintain the current lineup or reorganize is still unknown.

In this open qualifier, Zero Tenacity and Capy Baras emerged as the winners. There will be a second open qualifier, and only one team will advance. In addition to these three teams, the closed qualifiers of DreamLeague S26 will also welcome Tundra Esports, AVULUS, Gaimin Gladiators, Natus Vincere Junior and Passion UA to compete for a place in the main competition.
