Manchester United lost 0-1 to Nottingham Forest away from home, and coach Reuben Amorim admitted that the players were frustrated by the loss.
Anthony Elanga scored in the 5th minute of the game, and neither team scored in the following game. Until the end of the game, Nottingham Forest won the victory smoothly. This was Manchester United's first defeat in the past 6 Premier League games.
In the post-match press conference, Amorim said: "I think we controlled the game. We knew very well that Nottingham Forest was a team that could create scoring opportunities out of thin air. When they scored, the rhythm of the game changed a bit and became more in line with their style of play."
"We also created some good chances, but we were still a little short of the final pass and assist. When we can't do that, we can't score. We kept working hard, had a lot of shots, and kept putting pressure on the opponent's penalty area. Unfortunately, the quality of the final shot was lacking."
"When you don't win, it's frustrating. Especially when you look back at the game and feel like we deserved a better result than we lost. That's more frustrating than losing against a much better team."
When asked if the team needs to change anything, Amorim replied: "Yes, because if you look at some games, we can't let the opponent create chances easily. Sometimes, the opponent has more chances than us, but it was not the case today."
“They might have one or two shots to score, while we had multiple shots but failed to score. We need to be more efficient in the final third. We have improved in our build-up play and can keep the opponent in their half, but we need to do more in the crucial moments.”
