Jarrod Bowen was disappointed with the defeat as the players did not perform at their best

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen believes the defeat to Wolves can only be attributed to the team's poor performance. In West Ham United's match against Wolves, the team paid a heavy price for missing opportunities, and Jurgen Strand-Larsen scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute.

Despite West Ham's aggressive play , they were held tenaciously by their opponents. Niklas Fellkrug came close to equalising with a curling header that hit Jose Sa's goal. In the end, West Ham were outplayed by their opponents, with Jarrod Bowen and his team-mates somewhat disappointed that they could not convert possession into goals.

Jarrod Bowen said: "We are disappointed with our performance. I think we lost too much initiative in the first half. Although the score is only 1-0, we are still in the game. The Wolves players defended the lead well, and what we need to do is to do better than them."

"We had the better chances in the game but we didn't score, so we are very disappointed that we lost the game."

"We have a game against Bournemouth next so we need to make changes and try to win the next game."

Jarrod Bowen also said he was pleased to see Niklas Fellkrug return to action after three months out with a hamstring injury. The player headed home in the dying moments of the game, the ball hitting the crossbar and bouncing back.

Jarrod Bowen said: "He performed well after coming on and he would have been disappointed if he didn't start. However, I think he showed what the head coach wants in the way he works and also showed how we as a team need to motivate each other in training every day."

"His return is very important for the team and Evan Ferguson is also getting more game time because he has been out for a while.

"It's good news for the team that both players are able to play. We don't want to let this go to waste at the end of the season. There are still many games to play and we need to try to get as many points as possible, but it all depends on our performance."
