Guardiola believes fan abuse directed at Phil Foden lacks character

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has called fan abuse directed at Phil Foden "unethical" following Sunday's 0-0 Manchester derby draw with Manchester United.

During the game, insulting shouts were heard several times at Old Trafford, suspected to be directed at Foden himself and his family.

When asked about the issue after the game, Guardiola did not shy away from expressing his anger and disappointment: "This is a lack of education."

"But this is not a Manchester United problem, this is a problem for some people. Those of us who are in the spotlight of world football - managers, owners, players, especially players - are always exposed to the public eye.

"To be honest, I really don't understand the mentality of these people."

"This is a lack of character and lack of cultivation. They should be ashamed. This happens not only in the UK, but all over the world."

Guardiola has always been known for his calm and rational attitude, but this time, facing the attacks against Foden and his relatives, he chose to speak out and showed his support for the player and his family.
