Kylian Mbappe recently revealed that it was his childhood idols, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zidane, who ignited his dream of joining Real Madrid.
As early as 2022, Mbappe was close to moving to Real Madrid, and finally realized the transfer two years later. He also admitted that he almost joined the Galacticos as early as his childhood. It was because of his admiration for the two legends that he loved this club since he was a child.
Mbappe said in the interview: "I live a dream life every day. Zidane is my idol. I started playing football because of him. Real Madrid has a unique aura. This is the greatest club in the world. Since Ronaldo joined, I have watched their games without missing a single one - he is another idol of mine."
Mbappe also recalled his first contact with Real Madrid as a child: "When I was 13 years old, I stayed in Valdebebas (Real Madrid training base) for a week. During that time, I could only talk to Zidane because I only spoke French. At that time, I did have the opportunity to stay, but I couldn't go because of family reasons. I couldn't move to Spain alone."
Although he was a little quiet when he first arrived at Real Madrid, Mbappe has now shined in his new club. So far this season, he has played 51 times for Real Madrid and scored 33 goals, making him the team's top scorer, second only to Robert Lewandowski and ranking second in the La Liga scorer list.
This Tuesday, Mbappe will lead Real Madrid's front line in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal. Then, they will challenge Alaves away at the weekend, and then face the focus battle at the Bernabeu in the second leg. For Mbappe, this is not only the continuation of his dream journey, but also a great stage for him to prove his value to Real Madrid.
