Reims centre-back Emmanuel Agbadu officially joins Wolves and will wear the No. 12 jersey

Wolves released a statement on Thursday announcing the signing of Reims centre-back Emmanuel Agbadu. The two sides signed a contract until June 30, 2029, with a one-year extension option.

It is also reported that Emmanuel Agbadu's transfer fee is 20 million euros plus 2 million floating. He will wear the No. 12 jersey at Wolves.

The 27-year-old Emmanuel Agbadu was born in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, and made his official debut from the Tunisian club Monastir in 2019. He then played for Eupen in the Belgian First Division for two seasons and joined Reims for 2.6 million euros in July 2022.

So far, Agbadu has played 80 times for Reims, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists. He has also played 12 times for the Ivory Coast national team and contributed 1 goal.

After completing the transfer, Wolves chairman Shi Yu said: "We are delighted to welcome Emmanuel to the club. He is a player that our recruitment team has been paying attention to for a long time, and Vitor (referring to coach Vitor Pereira) also believes that he is the right person to strengthen our lineup at this time.

"It was important that we completed the transfer as soon as possible to support Vitor in time. Like all transfers, this one is the result of the hard work of many people. I wish Emmanuel a successful career at Wolves and he will have the full support of everyone."

Agbadu said: "I am very happy to join Wolves. This is a great team, a club with a long history, and I can't wait to make my debut."

“I knew an African player who played here a few years ago (Willie Boly) and had followed the club in the past, so I knew it was a good team.”

"It's not a surprise to me to be here at Wolves, I knew about it before I came here. I'm very happy."
