Falcons official: Former G2 sniper m0NESY officially joins

Saudi Arabian e-sports club Falcons issued a statement on Monday, announcing that former G2 Counter-Strike 2 division member Ilya Osipov (ID: m0NESY) has officially joined the team.

m0NESY, 19 years old, is from Russia and is one of the top snipers in the CS2 arena today. He joined the G2 team in January 2022. So far, he has played in 519 maps, 12,529 rounds, and has 9,732 kills with an average rating of 1.23. He won the 2022 BLAST World Finals, the 2023 IEM Katowice, the 2023 IEM Cologne, the 2024 IEM Dallas, the 2024 BLAST Fall Finals and the 2024 BLAST World Finals.

The transaction amount is expected to be between 2 million and 2.5 million US dollars, setting a record for the highest transfer of a single player in the history of CS2. At the same time, Falcons announced that Abdulkhalik Gasanov (ID: Degster), also a sniper, would be relegated to the bench to make room for m0NESY to join.

Degster officially joined Falcons in January this year and helped the team win the PGL Bucharest Championship as MVP. In view of this, Falcons wrote in a statement: "This decision was not made lightly. Degster is an important member of our journey-his passion and dedication have had a profound impact on the team. We sincerely thank him for everything he has done for the Falcons team and wish him all the best in the future."

If nothing unexpected happens, m0NESY will participate in the IEM 2025 Melbourne knockout stage held from April 20 to 27 with his Falcons teammates. After confirming his joining, he said: "I received offers and invitations from many teams. Although I can't reveal the specifics, there are indeed many options. However, after weighing the pros and cons, I only want to join the Falcons team."
