Madison says team 100% supports coach Postecoglu

The "Lily Whites" Tottenham Hotspur will host Bodø Brøndby in the first leg of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League semi-final. Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Maddison said that everyone in the team supports coach Postecoglou 100% and hopes to create a special season under the coach.

Due to Tottenham Hotspur's unstable performance in the Premier League this season, coach Postecoglou has received a lot of negative criticism.

After losing 1-5 to Liverpool in the last round of the league, Tottenham Hotspur is currently ranked 16th in the Premier League standings with 37 points, so they can only qualify for Europe by winning the Europa League.

So far this season in the Premier League, the 28-year-old Maddison has contributed 9 goals and 7 assists for Tottenham Hotspur, and scored two goals in European competitions.

When talking about coach Postecoglu, Madison said, "We support the coach 100%, I think he is a very good person. Our performance in the league is indeed bad, but we have performed well in Europe. Frankly speaking, such league results are unacceptable. He is my coach and I respect him very much. The outside voices that his position is threatened are not what our players want to be exposed to. This is unhealthy for us."

"In every training session I see my teammates listening attentively to his tactical messages and giving their all for the club. We are in a good position in Europe and have the opportunity to have a special season under him. I will keep doing this until he is no longer in charge."

In addition, Maddison also said, "When you look back after your career, you will find that there are really not many times you can play in the European semi-finals. Maybe there are only one or two opportunities in a lifetime. We must cherish that the team has reached the semi-finals of an important European competition. We must use this as motivation and give our best performance in this game and in the away game against Bodø."

"This is a special opportunity and even though people are talking about the poor form and the bad season, we still have the chance to create something special. We have worked hard to get here and we deserve to be here and we will rise to the challenge with all our might."
