The Korean League of Legends team Gen.G released a statement on Saturday, confirming that its player Park Jae-hyuk (ID: Ruler) was unable to participate in the fan interaction event that day due to the death of his grandmother. The statement is as follows:
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the fans who attended GEN.G’s first home game today. It is because of your precious steps and enthusiastic support that we were able to unite and spend a meaningful time together.
At this special moment, we have to share this sudden news with you with heavy hearts.
Due to the passing of his grandmother, Ruler will not be able to attend the fan interaction event scheduled for today after the game. Except for Ruler, all other players will participate in the event as planned.
We hope that everyone can send their condolences and support to player Ruler who is currently mourning. We will be very grateful.
Once again, thank you to all the fans who came to our home stadium to cheer for GEN.G. Thank you everyone.”
The 25-year-old Ruler has played as an ADC for SSG, Gen.G and JDG, during which he won the 2017 World Championship, the 2022 LCK Summer Championship, the 2023 MSI Championship, the 2023 LPL Spring Championship and the 2023 LPL Summer Championship. In November 2024, he returned to GEN as a free agent and has been playing in the LCK region with the team ever since.
