Riot is trying to bring AP jungle back to the mainstream

As the global playoffs are in full swing and the 2025 Mid-Season Championship (MSI) is about to start, Riot Games released the League of Legends 25.11 update. Although this update does not bring disruptive changes in the mechanism like 25.10, as a continuity patch, it accurately consolidates the environmental trends of the previous version and quietly promotes some potential tactical innovations.

The biggest highlight of this update is a series of enhancements to top lane warrior heroes. These adjustments are mostly focused on improving hero growth or enhancing their synergy with core warrior equipment. The purpose is very clear: to allow warriors to regain a place in the current fast-paced, explosive play-dominated environment.

This means that we may see the top lane return to a "game battlefield" centered on pulling, exchanging blood, and operating details, replacing the previous "first-hand burst, one wave determines the outcome" fast-push rhythm. For professional players, this will also greatly improve the online technical content, making the game more enjoyable and more exciting to operate.

Since version 25.10, Riot has been trying to bring AP junglers back to the mainstream, and version 25.11 has taken this direction a step further. Classic AP junglers such as Diana have been adjusted to make them more competitive in terms of jungle clearing efficiency and mid-to-late game output.

This is a major benefit to the tactical diversity of professional teams, especially in non-repeated selection formats such as Fearless Draft. Having a system centered on AP junglers can effectively break the opponent's ban strategy and expand the BP depth.

With the rise of magic output characters in multiple lines, some high-risk, high-return burst mages have begun to re-enter the tactical radar. Mid-lane heroes that were previously "forgotten in the version" such as Ryze and Kassadin now have value again in specific lineup systems, especially when the double C needs to share the output type, they can become a surprise choice.
