Reims announced on Thursday that Getafe's 21-year-old midfielder John Padrick has officially joined the club. Both parties signed a four-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2029.
"John Patrick combines strength, energy and speed," Lance said in a statement. "He is good at dribbling through the opponent's defense, passing the ball to his teammates, and quickly breaking into the opponent's penalty area to create shooting opportunities."
“With this signing, Reims is strengthening its midfield while defining its strategy: relying on young players and striking a balance between freshness, talent and competitiveness.”
The statement also pointed out that John Padrick will wear the No. 30 jersey at Reims. As for his transfer fee, the media speculated that it was 1 million euros.
John Padrick was born in Madrid in 2003 and has dual Irish and Spanish citizenship. He joined Getafe's youth training at the age of 15 and made his debut for the first team in La Liga on December 5, 2020 at the age of 17 years and 42 days.
So far, John Padrick has made 15 appearances for Getafe and scored 1 goal.
Regarding John Padrick's arrival, Reims sporting director Pol-Edouard Caio said: "We are very happy that John Padrick has joined our team. His strong, powerful and dynamic characteristics are very suitable for our sports."
“He will strengthen our midfield with his excellent skills and the energy he displays on the field.”
