AST official: Former G2 player HooXi officially joins

The well-known CS2 team Astralis (AST) released an announcement on Wednesday, announcing that Danish player Rasmus Nielsen (ID: HooXi) has officially joined the team. The team temporarily recruited HooXi in late April to replace the original commander Casper Muna (ID: cadiaN) to compete in this year's PGL Astana station.

AST returned to the finals of PGL Astana after five years, and HooXi's on-the-spot performance played a key role. Although they eventually lost to Spirit and finished second, AST still highly praised HooXi's tactical command ability and decided to officially sign him.

For AST's high recognition, HooXi expressed his gratitude on social media. He wrote: "It has always been my dream to play for Astralis. Rebuilding takes time and a lot of effort, but I hope and believe that we can continue the good start in Astana and repay the fans who have always given us great support."

HooXi, 30, started his professional career in 2015 and has played for many CS teams including myXMG, eSpuma, Ambush, TOXIC, Demise, AGF, CPHF, x6tence, MAD Lions, G2, etc. To date, he has played in 1,095 maps and 28,459 rounds in professional competitions, with 16,115 kills and an average rating of 0.85. HooXi also won the 2022 BLAST Premier World Finals, the 2023 IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne championships with the G2 team.
