The 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) "Dota 2" group stage officially ended on July 12. Four teams successfully advanced to the knockout stage and were the first to secure the top eight places in the tournament.
The current qualifying teams are: Team Spirit, BetBoom Team, Aurora Gaming and Team Liquid. The qualifying lists of Group A and Group B were determined as early as the third day of the competition. Team Spirit and BetBoom won the first place in their groups respectively without losing.
Group C had a focus match on the last day, with Aurora Gaming and Tundra Esports tied and needed to play a tiebreaker. Although Tundra Esports was in hot form this season and won many championships, Aurora Gaming won 2-1 in the end and successfully topped the list.
In Group D, world champion Team Liquid showed its dominance early on, sweeping strong rival PARIVISION on the second day of competition, and ultimately remained at the top of the list with an undefeated record.
The group stage points are as follows:
Group A: Team Spirit (2-1-0)
Group B: BetBoom Team (2-1-0)
Group C: Aurora Gaming (2-1-0)
Group D: Team Liquid (2-1-0)
The remaining teams will enter the knockout qualifying battle, with the 3rd vs. 4th in the group starting the first round. The winners will then compete with the 2nd in each group for the last four knockout spots.
The total prize money for this year's "Dota 2" tournament is as high as 3 million US dollars. As a key event of the E-Sports World Cup, the championship battle will be held on July 19.
