Paul Scholes says Man Utd should sell eight players

Paul Scholes has bluntly stated that Manchester United should put eight players, including Marcus Rashford, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez, up for sale.

Scholes' comments come against the backdrop of a poor season for the Red Devils, who are currently 13th in the Premier League table, their lowest position in the club's history after 22 games. Rafael Amorim took over as Manchester United manager in November last year, replacing the sacked Erik ten Hag. However, the Portuguese coach has failed to turn the team around, and recently even described the current squad as "probably the worst team in Manchester United's history", stressing that the team needs a major rebuild to restore its former dominance.

In a video posted on TNT Sports' social media channels, Scholes listed the players he believes Manchester United should sell, including Rashford, Martinez, De Ligt, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Casemiro, Anthony and Joshua Zirkzee.

Although Scholes advocated a major purge, he also pointed out some players worth keeping, including goalkeeper Andre Onana, young midfielder Kobe Menou and striker Alejandro Ganacho.

Speaking of Onana, Scholes said: "I think we should keep him. He still has more potential to be tapped. I will keep him."
Regarding Menou, the former midfielder praised: "This is one of the most promising young players in the club and must be retained."
As for Ganacho, Scholes' attitude is a little hesitant: "He is still young and there is room for improvement. This is a difficult problem. I tend to stay reluctantly."

It is worth noting that both Menou and Ganaccio have been involved in transfer rumors recently, and Chelsea is reportedly interested in both players. Manchester United is reportedly willing to sell academy graduates to improve its compliance with the Profit and Sustainability Regulation (PSR). In addition, Serie A team Napoli is also closely monitoring Ganaccio's situation.

Manchester United must turn their attention to their upcoming Europa League campaign, where they host Rangers on Thursday.
