Bayern Munich issued a statement on Tuesday announcing the signing of Hoffenheim's 19-year-old local midfielder Tom Bischoff. He will officially join as a free agent in the summer window this year, and the contract period will last until June 30, 2029.
Regarding Bischoff's arrival, Bayern's sporting director Christoph Freund said: "Tom Bischoff is one of Germany's most promising young players and has attracted international attention. At only 19 years old, he has already accumulated rich experience in professional football, the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Europa League."
"As a technical midfielder, Tom fits perfectly with our football philosophy. We are delighted that he has chosen to take the next step in his career at FC Bayern. Tom has all the qualities to succeed at the highest level."
Max Eberl, Bayern's sports director, said: "Tom is an extraordinary player with great potential. He has excellent left-foot skills and is at a very high level in set pieces and passing. He needs to face the competitive atmosphere of Bayern and the fierce challenges within the team."
Tom Bischoff joined Hoffenheim's youth training at the age of 10 and made his Bundesliga debut for the first team on March 19, 2022. He was only 16 years and 263 days old at the time, making him the youngest Bundesliga player in Hoffenheim's history.
So far, Bischof has made 53 appearances for Hoffenheim, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists.
