Manchester City officially announce the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt's Egypt international forward Omar Marmoush..


Manchester City announced on its official website on Thursday that the club has officially signed Egypt international forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.


According to the defending Premier League champions' official statement, Marmoush has signed on a long-term four-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029. He will also wear the No. 7 jersey which was vacated after England international forward Raheem Sterling had left the club.


After completing his joining procedures, Marmoush, who was interviewed by the Manchester City official website for the first time, said: "This is a day I will never forget."


"Signing for Manchester City, one of the best teams in the world, is a fantastic feeling. I am very happy, my family is also proud of it, and we are all happy to come to Manchester."


"With Pep (Guardiola), his technical staff and world-class facilities, the players have everything they need to improve. When I had the opportunity to come here, it was really tempting for me."

This transfer will also officially deal a very big blow to the transfer plan of its biggest title-rivals Liverpool.


About Omar Marmoush


Marmoush, 25, was born on February 7, 1999 in Cairo, Egypt. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward. He can also play as a left winger or a right winger. He has dual Egyptian and Canadian citizenship.


Marmoush joined the Wadi Degla youth academy since he was a child, and completed his Wadi Degla first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in July 2016.


On the following year's summer transfer window deadline dayMarmoush joined Wolfsburg's reserve team for €100,000.


During his three-year spell with Die Wölfe's reserve team, Marmoush helped Wolfsburg's reserve team win the German Regionalliga Nord once.


In May 2020, Marmoush completed his Wolfsburg first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in the match against Bayer Leverkusen.


In order to get more playing opportunities, Marmoush was loaned-out to St. Pauli and Stuttgart the following year.


After returning to the club following the end of his loan spell in 2022, Marmoush officially became a key player in Wolfsburg's first team. During this spell, he attracted much attention several times for his excellent performances against his former club Stuttgart.


After leaving the club after his contract has expired last summer, Marmoush moved to Eintracht Frankfurt as a free agent.


During his two-and-a-half-year spell with Die Adler, Marmoush played 67 times for the Bundesliga club in all competitions, scoring 37 goals and assisting 20 times.
