Chinese esports organization Rare Atom has officially parted ways with player Trash, a decision that comes just one month after he was benched.
Trash joined Rare Atom in June of this year, shortly after the team parted ways with veteran player "somebody." During his brief stint with the team, he participated in numerous domestic and international tournaments and helped the team win the first season of the GangKui Cup.
However, their performance at FISSURE Playground 1 was less than ideal, with Rare Atom losing to PaiN Gaming and 3DMAX, ultimately failing to advance. In July, Rare Atom introduced new player Tiger, injecting fresh blood into the roster.
Rare Atom said in an official statement: "After friendly communication and consultation between the organization and the players, Trash has officially left the team."
Despite the roster changes, Rare Atom has already secured a spot in the Perfect World CS Challenge Series 1. The event, which will take place from August 29th to 31st, offers a prize pool of ¥350,000 and valuable Valve regional ranking points.
Looking back at 2025, Rare Atom gradually demonstrated its prowess on the international stage. In April, they competed in PGL Astana, ultimately placing in the top 14. Since then, their consistent performance both online and offline has seen them win regional titles and advance to more tournaments.
With the departure of Trash and the addition of new player Tiger, Rare Atom's Counter-Strike 2 roster has undergone a restructuring. How they can maintain their performance in the upcoming competitions and continue to strive for higher levels will become the focus of attention.
