Moises Caicedo reaches 100 Premier League game milestone and says Premier League is the best league in the world

Moises Caicedo, who currently plays for Chelsea, reached a major milestone earlier this month, one he admits was something he could never have dreamed of.  

For any player, playing 100 Premier League games is not an easy task. However, 23-year-old Moises Caicedo has achieved this milestone. This milestone is of great significance to Moises Caicedo.  

In February 2021, Moises Caicedo left Ecuador for England. After a year of hardship, Moises Caicedo made his Premier League debut and provided an assist in the game, helping the team defeat Arsenal.  

That match was Moises Caicedo’s favourite match of his time in the English league, not just because of his contribution and the result, but also because it marked the beginning of a new journey.  

"At first I couldn't imagine that I would be able to play 100 games at such a young age," said Moises Caicedo. "It's really something special. I have to thank God and the coaches for giving me the opportunity to play in these games and to do my part for the team. I'm really happy and I hope to play more."  

"In football, especially in the Premier League, there are always highs and lows, and I learn a lot from it. I learn new things in every game. The Premier League is the best league in the world because there are so many talented players here, and they are all worth learning from."  

"In this league, you will meet all kinds of opponents and anything can happen. We can play against teams at the bottom of the table or against teams at the top. Therefore, in every game, we have to go all out and show our quality."  

Moises Caicedo says he feels he has become a well-rounded midfielder since arriving in England, mainly because he has learned a lot in the Premier League and believes he is getting stronger.  

Moises Caicedo added: "It was really difficult at the beginning. I wanted to go home because I came to this country alone and left my family in Ecuador. I have a strong relationship with my parents, so I felt frustrated. In addition, the culture, time, food and weather were all changing, but fortunately I persevered."  

"I often pray to God, hoping that my family far away will support me and that I will be strong and brave. I also keep telling myself that after the storm comes peace. Now I just enjoy everything in this beautiful club, give everything I have to the team, and do my best to play for the team."  

Moises Caicedo played a full season for the Seagulls before catching the attention of top English clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Moises Caicedo chose Chelsea as his next club due to his childhood love for the club. However, a new challenge arose in terms of the attention and expectations he faced.  
 

Moises Caicedo said: "I always try to stay calm because I know what football is like better than anyone. When you perform well, everyone loves you and you are the best in the world. However, it is not always laughter in football. Sometimes you will experience difficult moments."  

“When I go through tough moments, I know I’m ready for whatever comes my way because I’ve overcome some. So it makes me stronger because I’m ready to deal with negative situations. I feel like I’ve had one of my best times at Chelsea and I want to continue like that and help the team in any way I can.”
